Ruby
Ruby
Part of the Artisans in Residence collection.
How she made it:
Ruby pairs a crossbody silhouette with the boldest hardware in Fabiana's line, a lock built in brass and wrapped entirely in alligator skin. She cuts the leather by hand, lines it in goat skin, and closes every seam herself in linen thread that matches the leather almost exactly, using the saddle stitch she learned under Heirloom Master Artisan, Beatrice Amblard. The forty-seven-inch adjustable strap is built for a bag meant to be worn all day, not carried for an afternoon. One internal pocket keeps the everyday essentials close.
Technique:
Completely handmade using the traditional French saddle-stitch technique.

What Students & Alums Are Saying
Studying here has been an extraordinary experience. Beatrice Amblard teaches leatherworking with the same discipline, precision, and excellence she honed during her years at Hermès. The progressive curriculum is demanding and incredibly rewarding. I'm currently in Level 3 and feel privileged to be learning how the finest bags in the world are truly made.
Bea and Amelie have created a beautifully designed studio and a thoughtful approach to teaching leathercraft. I love coming here and appreciate the care that goes into how the studio and classes are run.
